The new industry-focused ethos of the degree in Communication Design got off to a fantastic start last night.
On 23 September Jeannine Saba, a London-based designer, set a live external project for Communication Design degree students. They have been tasked with the design of a front cover for the education supplement for Diplomat magazine which will be distributed in February. The winning design will be chosen in late November.
The students will also be contributing to the ‘Turner On The Terrace’ event being held at the Porterhouse Bar in Covent Garden on 22nd October. The event sees four artists – Chris Burke, Ben Tallon, Magnus Irvin and Pins – creating original artworks on the day, which will be auctioned for charity. The Porterhouse site was the birthplace of J.M.W. Turner and the event celebrates the forthcoming release of the film Mr Turner by Mike Leigh.
The production is a re-vamped Greek tragedy set in the 1950’s which also incorporates shadow puppetry.

Ornela and eight other Regent’s School of Drama, Film & Media students have just returned from the second of four workshops of the 2014 programme.
One of the three teams from Regent’s will receive a grant of up to 2000 euros to create a teaser trailer for their proposed feature film. You can check out previous years’ trailers here: http://four4corners.com/blog/?page_id=140
