On 17th March, BA (Hons) Communication Design students enjoyed an engaging and inspiring talk by Dave Brown of APEINC, London.
Dave discussed his work for international brands, his collaborative involvement within the world of the Mighty Boosh and APE’s work since its inception in 2007. Dave performs as Bollo the gorilla in the Mighty Boosh series and its many related events. He designed the visual identities and products that helped make the Mighty Boosh a global success.
Dave works with personalities from the entertainment industry and places high value on his work with major charities. He believes in clear communication through simple, ideas-based creative solutions.
Dave discussed the importance of being imaginative and inventive and remaining open to all forms of inspiration from football and ping pong, through to unusual curiosities and collections from around the world. He also shared career advice and gave our students survival tips from international designers that he invited personally.
