Two creatives from M&C Saatchi, Darren Urquhart and Tom Smith (both top right in the image), delivered a highly stimulating talk on advertising to BA (Hons) Communication Design students at Regent’s University London.
M&C Saatchi is an international advertising agency network which formed in January 1995 by the brothers Maurice Saatchi and Charles Saatchi.
In the session, Darren and Tom challenged the students to develop an advertising campaign for Pritt Stick. The company was chosen to show that professionals need to be able to demonstrate their creative thinking with what might appear to be every day, or even mundane products.
Computers were banned at this stage to encourage students to focus on the concepts and practice their visualisation skills. Each student will get to pitch their ideas in mid-November.
Darren and Tom are members of the new Industry Advisory Panel who guide the vocational aspects of the course.
