Live projects for Communication design students

On 23 September Jeannine Saba, a London-based designer, set a live external project for Communication Design degree students.  They have been tasked with the design of a front cover for the education supplement for Diplomat magazine which will be distributed in February. The winning design will be chosen in late November.

The students will also be contributing to the ‘Turner On The Terrace’ event being held at the Porterhouse Bar in Covent Garden on 22nd October.  The event sees four artists – Chris Burke, Ben Tallon, Magnus Irvin and Pins – creating original artworks on the day, which will be auctioned for charity.  The Porterhouse site was the birthplace of J.M.W. Turner and the event celebrates the forthcoming release of the film Mr Turner by Mike Leigh.

Jeannine is on the group of Industry Advisors to the BA Communication Design. The Advisory panel is an important element of the drive to ensure that the course has industry relevance and that students leave with a good first hand understanding of the demands and rigors of the commercial design world.
